Experience the programs and rituals of world famous Jagannath Puri at Fremont Temple through the year (UNDER STRICT COVID-19 GUIDELINES). By the grace of Lord Jagannath, senior members from Odia American community of Bay Area laid the foundation of the first Jagannath Mandir in California at Fremont Hindu Temple (Vedic Dharma Samaj) in 1994.

Fremont Temple and Sri Jagannath sevaks invited all to the Chariot Festival - where Sri Jagannath parivaar come out of their abode to meet their devotees of any caste color or religion.

The Rath Yatra is dedicated to Lord Jagannath, his elder brother Lord Balabhadra and his sister Goddess Subhadra. The Rath Yatra celebrates the annual journey of Lord Jagannath and his two siblings from the 12th-century Jagannath Temple to His birth place Gundicha Temple, 2.5km away.

Three heavily-built wooden chariots of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra are traditionally pulled by thousands of devotees over a distance of three kilometres twice during the nine-day festival of the Trinity at Puri. After resting for eight days, Sri Jagannath returns to his main abode and is known as Bahuda Yatra.

Sri Jagannaths Rath, Nandighosha (also known as Garudadhwaja, Kapiladhwaja) is about 44 feet tall and has 16 wheels.

Balbhadras chariot is called Taladhwaja or Langaladhwaja, and it stands 43 feet in height and has 14 wheels. While Subhadras chariot has 12 wheels and it is 42 feet tall.

ఎంతో మంది భక్తులు, కుటుంబసమేతముగా పెద్దలు పిల్లల తో కూడా కలసి వచ్చి, కరోనా జాగ్రత్తలతో, ఉత్సాహముగా పాల్గొని, రధమును లాగే పుణ్య భాగ్యము పొందారు, నిప్పులు చెరిగే మండుటెండలో కూడా.

ఒరిస్సా రాష్ట్ర భక్తులు, ఫ్రీమాంట్ టెంపుల్ యాజమాన్యం తో కలిపి సంవత్సరాలుగా చేస్తున్న ఈ ఆధ్యాత్మిక కార్యక్రమానికి, ముఖ్య గౌరవ అతిధి గా, శాన్ ఫ్రాన్సిస్కో నగరం లోని భారత రాయబారి (కాన్సల్ జెనరల్) తెలుగు వారైన, శ్రీ నాగేంద్ర ప్రసాద్ గారు కుటుంబ సమేతము గా విచ్చేసి, తామూ రధాన్ని లాగి, యాత్రలో అలాగే ఇతర కార్యక్రమాలలో పాలుపంచుకుని, ఆ దేవ దేవుని ఆశీస్సులు పొందారు.
