The feet of VenkaTEshwara are so sacred that they are adorable even to Brahma and that the very feet (paadam) themselves are Brahma. The Lord's feet have saved the earth from the powerful enemy Bali Chakravarthi when the Lord in the form of Vaamana asked him to fulfill his wish. The adorable feet of the Lord, which brought down the pride of the poisonous snake Kaalinga (by KaaLiyanandana) were pressed so dearly by the goddess of wealth Lakshmi, the Lord's wife. These are the feet that have given many boons to rishis and have made TiruvenkaTagiri in Tirupati the last destination to attain salvation.

Sri Annamaacharya Jayanthi Utsavam Celebrated with Vibrant Dance Performances at Fremont Hindu Temple

శ్రీ అన్నమాచార్య జయంతి ఉత్సవం ఫ్రీమాంట్ హిందూ దేవాలయంలో వైబ్రెంట్ డ్యాన్స్ పెర్ఫార్మెన్స్‌తో జరుపుకున్నారు.

The Fremont Hindu Temple came alive with color, rhythm, and devotion as it hosted the Sri Annamayya Jayanthi Utsavam. This annual festival organized by Smt. Vidya Sethuraman and Sri. Govind Pasumarthi under the Shanmukha Theaters banner, celebrating the birth anniversary of the revered 15th-century saint and composer, Sri Taallapaaka Annamacharya, featured a series of traditional Indian dance performances that captivated attendees.

Sri Surya narayana Murthy aka Rayan Nathan guruvu garu from Shanmukha Theatres contacted all local indian traditional schools and made this wonderful event possible.

The temple’s main hall was adorned with beautiful backdrop decorations, creating a serene and festive atmosphere. Over 20 Schools with 120 students/ teachers participated in this event, gathering around 500+ visitors to the festival. A highlight of the evening was the array of dance performances by local artists and students from various Bay Area dance schools.

The dancers, dressed in vibrant costumes, showcased classical Indian dance forms such as Bharatanatyam, Kuchipudi, and Andhranatyam. Each performance was meticulously choreographed to Annamacharya’s devotional compositions, known for their lyrical beauty and spiritual depth.

Noteworthy performances included a Kuchipudi rendition of Kulukaka Nadavaro, in which Sri Annamayya is asking the beautiful maids to carry the palanquin of Mother Alamelumanga gently and gracefully.

Another Bharatanatyam rendition of Ihame Gani, a rarely heard krithi, depicted the profound emotions of a devotee yearning for Hari bhakthi and divine grace.

The evening concluded with a beautiful performance of Adivo Alladivo and Thodaya Mangalam creating a harmonious end to the festivities. Devotees left the temple with a sense of spiritual fulfillment, inspired by the saint’s enduring legacy.

సాయంత్రం అదివో అల్లదివో, తోడయ మంగళం ల అందమైన ప్రదర్శనతో ఉత్సవాలకు సామరస్యంగా ముగింపు పలికారు. సాధువు యొక్క శాశ్వతమైన వారసత్వం నుండి ప్రేరణ పొందిన భక్తులు ఆధ్యాత్మిక పరిపూర్ణతతో ఆలయం నుండి బయలుదేరారు.

The Sri Annamaacharya Jayanthi Utsavam at Fremont Hindu Temple not only honored the life and works of a great saint but also reinforced the vibrant cultural tapestry that binds the Indian diaspora in the Bay Area.

The dance performance of those Kalama mothers (kaLama tallula) was amazing and indescribable. Taking photos, videos of such great program - changes in facial expressions and magic movement of body hands fingers feets, close-up ie zooming in - are possible for few folks only. Thank you for giving us that opportunity.

Everyone took photos and videos of their own students/ children only. But we took for everyone, because all are our students/ children - little Krishnayyas and Durgammas. Ours is Jagamanta kuTumbam.
