The history of the Lighting of the National Christmas Tree is intertwined with the history of America. Through peace and war, from national celebration to national mourning, Americans have gathered together and celebrated the season in this holiday event.
GE Lighting is also celebrating its 51st consecutive year designing Americas premier holiday tree.
Join friends and family on the Ellipse in Presidents Park to enjoy musical entertainment, make last-minute requests of Santa and see 56 unique trees along the Pathway of Peace. All the activities are free and open to the public.
* Musical Entertainment - Tap your toe or sing along to performances featuring jazz, choral music and dancers
* Santa Workshop - Families are invited to visit Santa and his elves as they make toys for all the good little girls and boys
* Pathway of Peace and National Christmas Tree Railroad
* Fifty-six trees - one for every U.S. state, territory and the District of Columbia - surround the National Christmas Tree.
